NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS

A COMMUNITY FUND

Flourish Placemaking Collective, in partnership with and led by grassroots organizing efforts called “Neighbors Helping Neighbors,” is creating a community fund for our neighbors impacted by recent ICE enforcement in our area.

Across South Minneapolis and beyond, individuals and families are facing sudden detention, separation, and displacement due to ICE enforcement. These moments create immediate financial crises: rent goes unpaid, fridges go empty, and legal costs pile up overnight.

This fund is rooted in mutual aid. Mutual aid is community-led support where people come together to care for one another, respond quickly to urgent needs, and share resources directly—without barriers, bureaucracy, or conditions. It is built on solidarity, trust, and the belief that those closest to the harm know what support is needed most. It is belonging embodied.

Funds raised go directly to community members who have been impacted. Donations provide flexible, immediate assistance for critical needs, including:

  • Groceries and basic household necessities
  • Rent stability and support
  • Transportation support
  • Emergency support for families facing sudden loss of income

Your contribution helps community members stay housed, fed, and supported during moments of profound uncertainty. This is neighbors showing up for neighbors, preserving dignity, stability, and safety when our systems fall short.
